Women as Community Leaders

We believe that women shape the face of society, and can pave the way for all of us by helping Israel become a more gender-equal country. That is the reason why we have established 8 women’s clubs across the country, based in Jerusalem, Holon, Ra’anana – Kfar Saba, Rishon LeZion, and the surrounding area, Petah Tikva-Ramat Gan, Yavne, Beit Shemesh, and Yeruham. Our goal is to establish more centers across the country.

Meetings at the clubs are held on a regular basis for a nominal fee and each club builds its own curriculum based on the interests of community members. Activities include workshops, social get-togethers, and lectures on a variety of topics, such as economics and finance, health, law, and culture. A leading team of women is in charge of each club’s content, management, and ongoing operations. Leading team members undergo leadership training and workshops supported by the Merage Foundation’s management.

Club members volunteer both for the community of Iranian immigrants and for Israeli society. Each club chooses a project to volunteer for, such as special needs hostels, mentally impaired centers, hospitals, nursing homes, children with disabilities clubs, and more.
