Negev Strategy

The Merage Foundation - Israel's activity in Negev focuses on a number of operational areas whose purposes are the promotion of business, the development of the economy, and the creation of positive public discourse aimed at converting the expanse of the Negev into a place of significant importance to the citizens of Israel and to the world. These operational areas include the expansion of the economy, the development of a tourist infrastructure, the enhancement and advancement of the education system, the promotion of culture, and the establishment of a public relations system for the region.

These operational areas were chosen after a thorough examination of existing projects and of areas and issues that were not being fully serviced by governmental or non-governmental organizations. A review was carried out in full coordination with the authorities active in the Negev, both at a strategic level and at a local tactical level.

The Foundation strongly supports cooperative efforts to create projects that combine a number of organizations, foundations, government ministries and departments, and local authorities operating in coordination under one roof.
