A joint venture between Merage Foundations Israel, JAFI, and Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, the Kfar Saba Absorption Center for Lone Soldiers was renovated for the one hundred Lone Soldiers who live in the Kfar Saba vicinity. Facility improvements included a face lift from floor to ceiling, a new bar, furniture, television set with DVD and two computers with internet access. Many of the soldiers live in the absorption center for their first year of civilian life and see the club as their home. The center has a full-time staff member to coordinate and implement a rich and enticing social/educational program for the soldiers. Since December 2004 when renovations were complete, the center has become a national model of success and effectiveness.
