Lone Soldiers

Merage Foundations Israel’s vision for its Lone Soldier support is to nurture productive citizens of Israel through a healthy and complete integration of all young lone immigrant soldiers into society. Efforts include supporting immigrant soldiers throughout their military careers and at the beginning of their independent adult lives so that they are able to fulfill their personal potential in Israeli society. In support of the 700 Lone Soldiers in Israel, the foundation has three goals:

• •Provide helpful information to Lone Soldiers during the military service and provide a network of support as they make important personal choices before their discharge
• •Facilitate cooperation among the relevant organizations - including IDF, Ministry of Defense, Jewish Agency and private foundations - and unite resources for support of project goals and target populations
• •Conduct follow-up programs and continued support until Lone Soldiers fully integrate into civilian life
